Perlensucher

Filling Gaps

In 2013, together with a number of other collectors, Anna Friebe-Reininghaus initiated the Perlensucher at the Museum Ludwig. The commitment of the group manifests itself in the annual acquisition of one or more important works on paper by artists from the second half of the twentieth century for the collection of the Museum Ludwig. Together with the director of the museum, the members of this initiative ‘dive’ deep into the depths of the collection, evaluate gaps and make long-overdue complementary additions by introducing these pearls into the museum’s collection.

In this way, the museum’s collection has already been substantially enriched with important works by Mary Bauermeister, Teresa Burga, VALIE EXPORT, Hans Haacke, Charlotte Posenenske, Gerhard Richter, Ed Ruscha and Nil Yalter.
