Wade Guyton (b. 1972) is among the most important and sought-after artists of our day. He began painting using digital media at a time when such technologies were still very new.
In conjunction with his exhibition at the Museum Ludwig, Guyton has created an edition of so-called drawings that originally derive from a Museum Ludwig catalogue from 1976. Each of the drawings is a distinct product of mechanical chance and artistic intention. The resulting works on paper possess a unique aesthetic and at the same time an ingenious reference to the history of art and culture since Marcel Duchamp.
