The International Society has quickly grown into a dynamic group of art enthusiasts. Our members and their dedication is our most important achievement. Since our inception with Andrea Fraser, we have had many exciting events both in New York and Cologne with various artists and institutions. Through our numerous activities and connections, we have established a truly inspiring community.

We have also had great success at supporting essential projects for the Museum Ludwig. Through the International Society, we were able to raise substantial donations for the monumental exhibition WADE GUYTON: ZWEI DEKADEN. We welcomed many International Society members during this event, hosting dinners, parties, and visits to private collections.

Our dedication to new projects continues each year.  In 2021 we secured an open-ended rental of "Out of Sight", 2020, from Cameron Rowland for the Museum Ludwig. In 2022 we raised funds for the exhibition Der Wert der Zeit / The Value of Time, which features contemporary works from our collection and is on view until August 2025. In 2023 we chose to support an educational component to the 2024 Roni Horn exhibition, Give Me Paradox or Give me Death.

The International Society was also instrumental in raising funds towards the conservation of Brice Marden’s very significant painting “Humiliatio” from 1978, a central work within the Museum Ludwig, and also one of the most important works of American Abstract Art in a European collection at a museum. Our members visited Dana Cranmer’s studio in New York where Brice Marden discussed his work and the conservation to be executed at the studio. 

We are very proud of of our members and these achievements, and we look forward to new projects and events ahead!
